December Loves

NARS Charade Eyeshadow Duo: This duo is often recommended for people with brown eyes, and I can see why. I have lighter brown eyes with yellow flecks, and although I've always wished my eyes were dark like my sisters, I'm slowly realizing that it will never change and I have to deal with it. :( That said, I've been trying to use eyeshadows on a daily basis to compliment my peepers and this NARS duo is great at just that! The two colors go well together, and the purple goes well with darker shades for a smokey eye.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Stromboli: Great coverage and consistency! I mix it with my Laura Mercier foundation just to get the perfect color for me. :)
NARS Little Darling Lipstick: This lipstick is so smooth and my most favorite thing about it is the color (darker nude)! I've been switching between this lipstick and my YSL lipstick (see below) everyday.
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte 2 Sensual Silk Lipstick: This is my new favorite lipstick! It is a beautiful pinkish nude color and great for everyday wear. The formula of this is the best I've ever come across, and so is the packaging. Gorgeous! I do like NARS lipsticks and some of the MAC finishes but this has great color payoff, and is smooth and moisturizing.
MAC Coffee Eyeliner Pencil: I use it on my waterline for a less intense, defined look.
MAC Blunt Blush: My older sister let me use hers for a while, but I decided to buy my own because it is such a great contour powder for me.
MAC 109 Brush: I have been wanting this brush for a while and I'm glad I finally got my hands on it! Great for contouring.
L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black: After three coats of this it looks like I have on fake lashes, and with my short lashes, that is a miracle! haha.
American Apparel Mouse Nail Polish: One of their new shades that I've worn most of the month.
Dogeared Necklaces: When it comes to necklaces, I'm pretty boring. I only go for dainty, simple necklaces and I love layering delicate pieces. This Karma necklace and this Lotus necklace from Dogeared are wonderful for that. They are timeless and I know I will love them forever.

December was a great month for me and I'm terribly sad it's almost over. I'm heading up to Colorado later this week to prepare for winter quarter: settle in my apartment, buy my textbooks and such. I hope you all are enjoying your holidays! What were your favorites this past month?

Happy Holidays!

I just love the holidays. I get to see my family and friends from back home, dress up for parties, eat delicious food, shop and spend time with my lovable Shih Tzu. I have been running around trying to buy presents and wrap them up before Christmas, but I have found some great things for myself as well (shown below). Yay!

November Loves

This is my first favorites post but I've been wanting to do one for quite some time! I hope you girls enjoy it. :)
A-ha Moment Nail Polish by OPI Sephora: Just your regular opaque white color, but it has become such a staple of mine!
Owl Ring: This is from a store called Tree of Life in Sydney, and I have been adoring owl jewelry and art lately. So, this has seriously been stuck to my finger. haha.
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline: I'm in the middle, and these are my two beautiful sisters. :) I usually go for a less defined look on a daily basis, but I have been liking my Blacktrack Fluidline from MAC these days. It stays put and doesn't smudge everywhere.
Honeylove MAC Lipstick: This lipstick has a matte finish, so it's a little drying for me but I love the color. It is so natural looking and flattering!
Naked Palette by Urban Decay: My other Urban Decay eyeshadows have a lot of fallout, as they are a lot glittery than I usually like. However, this palette is filled with mostly matte eyeshadows and eyeshadows with a shimmery sheen to them, not so much glitter and sparkle. In addition, I'm a huge fan of neutral colors, so this array of shades truly pleases me! haha. :)
Benefit Birthday Suit Creaseless Shadow/Liner: It doesn't crease at all during the day, and it's such a lovely champagne base or highlight color for my eyes.
NYLON Magazine: This was my first purchase of an issue, and I love its edginess and uniqueness. The fashion and makeup looks are also so inspirational and fun to look at. :)

What have you been loving this month? I would love to know!

Celebspiration

I have been purchasing more magazines than I should be these days, but here are some celebrity styles I've been admiring lately:

Norah Jones

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

Jessica Stroup
I love the fact that she's not afraid to mix prints!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long! I was caught up in university essays, presentations and projects. Classes have ended though, and I do have one final in about two weeks but I'm going to Sydney this Saturday for a week to hang out with my sister and her boyfriend! They're coming from Hawaii for a little vacation and to visit me :) I'm so excited to see them, it's been too long.

For The Love Of Nature

I took this self-portrait a while ago when I completely loved everything outdoorsy. I would go hunting with my dad, swimming at the beach and I would ride my ATV (4-wheeler) for hours. I was pretty much a tomboy growing up, and had two sisters who were into more girly things like shopping and painting their elegant nails. It wasn't until college that I developed a love for makeup and fashion. I realized that the way I presented myself was a means by which I was able to represent and express myself. I have always been a lover of art and creativity, so I am so glad I have found a great way to play around with both on a daily basis.

Lately, I found that I haven't been spending as much time outdoors as I would like and I consider nature to be one of the most beautiful and inspiring things about life. As I've been adding more flower accessories and clothing to my attire, here are some of my favorite pictures of flowers I took over the summer:

Hope you all are off to a great start this week! :)

Florals And Animal Print

So, that's what I wore out to breakfast this morning. I've been going light on the makeup and I'm so loving this comfortable romper these days. What do you think of mixing floral patterns and animal print? I think it's a great mixture of girly and edgy. :) Each to her own though!

Hope you all are having a beautiful weekend!

Chocolate Talk

For the past few weeks, I have been craving the decadent taste of Jacques Torres chocolates from New York City...

Above are just some pictures I took the last time I visited. Aside from filled chocolate bites, they make amazing ice cream, cookies, cakes, hot cocoas (my sister is holding a cup of hot cocoa above)...and the list goes on. Their chocolates are some of the best I've ever tasted, and I've eaten a lot of chocolate in my lifetime! haha, I love how beautifully they design their edibles are as well. It almost makes me not want to eat them! Okay, that's a lie. haha, they're too delicious.

A few nights ago, my friend had a get together at her apartment and she introduced to me Haigh's chocolates (located here in Australia). Also so yummy. :) I always have a stash of dark chocolate Tim Tams in my cupboard, but this was such a treat! haha, I basically looked like this the whole night:

What's your favorite type of chocolate?

Talk to you all soon! :)

Fashion Steals

No, I didn't steal anything. haha, but I certainly felt like I did last night. I got to go to the shopping mall for the first time in weeks yesterday, and I found some seriously great deals. I have been trying to save up for a trip that I'm taking in about three weeks. For those of you who may not know, my sister and her boyfriend are coming from Hawaii to Australia, and we're going to meet up in Sydney! A week full of shopping, eating and enjoying each other's company. I seriously can't wait.

But anyway, back to my shopping mall visit last evening. I thought with all of the school work I've been keeping myself busy with lately, it would be a great stress reliever to spend money on things I really don't need one last time before I jet. haha. I bought a few tops, a romper and accessories. Mostly summer things for this warm weather that's coming my way, and below is a picture of my favorite find! It wasn't exactly price friendly, and now I'm rethinking the title of this post, but it is my most loved of the bunch. :)

It's from Myer, a nationwide department store that greatly resembles Nordstrom, and the brand is Tokito. I love tops that are cinched at the waist, because it always gives me more shape. :) Sorry for the bad quality photo, I took it in the dressing room, and my obnoxious flash went off. Ugh. After that, I shoved my camera in my bag. haha. This point and shoot camera is more convenient to carry around on shopping trips, but I love fidgeting with my SLR. Oh, and you can't see past my hips because well...I wasn't exactly wearing shorts. haha, sorry about that too. =/

I'm sure this top and my "steals" will be in posts soon because I can't wait to wear them! haha. Have you found any great deals lately with the transition of seasons?

Fall Out

Autumn is my favorite time to take nature pictures, dress in cute scarves and wear comfortable beanies. I just finished my second spring break of 2010 and as it happens, I'm completely missing out on fall this year. :( I thought I'd share some pictures I took last fall when I visited my sister in New York (the first picture is of my older sister, Kellie), some I took with my university friends in Colorado and some when I got home for the holidays! I'm lucky enough to return to Hawaii before Thanksgiving for the holidays every year. I love my academic calendar. :)

Any favorite things you like to do or wear during the fall? Wherever you are, I hope you're having a great season! :)
